Hi; Im using Live Messenger 8.1. There are two odd things about it. First, Whenever I sign in to Messenger an offline message window pops up with nothing in it. The second and most disturbing problem is that my contacts say they are receiving messages from me (website links especially) , although I did not send them. What can I do about it ?

Looks like you have been infected by one of the many messenger viruses that is circulating. You need to run your antivirus and antispyware scans, preferably in Safe Mode.

To get into Safe Mode, reboot and then either hold down or tap the F8 key repeatedly while the computer is starting up.
