I have recently bought a new 1080p Sharp TV (the LC-42XD1EA if you're interested)
I am connecting the 360 to the TV using the component cable, as Microsoft failed to put an HDMI on the 360 (why?)
My problem is that to use the component cable i must use an input (EXT4) that receives its audio from a 3.5mm stereo minijack cable (its like a headphone socket) As opposed to the red and white audio leads on the component.
Do Microsoft, or anyone for that matter make a lead that plugs into the 360 at one end and plugs into the TV at the other in the form of a 3.5mm minijack??
I have Tried Microsoft support on both the phone and e-mail but they are less than useless, one man i spoke to said a SCART cable would cure my problem!! WTF!!
Anyway hope somebody can help me as i'm about to smash my 360 to bits and get a ps3.
Thanks
Xbox 360 audio cable with 3.5mm minijack final connection to TV?windows mailGet a PS3 and you'll be on here asking question more often then ever. I don't know much about HDMI, but I'm assuming that your console was purchased recently. If that's the fact you might be able to swap it for the Elite version. It's black, has a HDD 10x the size, and HDMI capabilites. The component cables are only for the picture. In most cases you'd use the R&W RCA cables for the audio hookup, or optical fiber for a surround sound system. I've never heard of this jack, but if it's the audio input like I believe try a R&W RCA - 3.5mm Stereo converter. Good luck.
