Want to buy Xbox 360 Pro - does the included cable support composite (old) connections? (Red/White/Y
Mainly, does the HDMI cable included which appears to be component (red, white, blue, yellow, green) support composite connections if I were to hook up white/red to audio and yellow cable as sole video input? Or is there a composite sold seperately? Microsoft claims the cable is some sort of hybrid. Anybody?

In other words the cable had 6 connectors. It has the red and white audio cables... which are standard on both componentHD wires and composite connections. Then it has two sets of video connection options. One is the single yellow video connector used for SD video.... the other is 3 seperate video connections (red, blue, green) which are the component video connections.
So yes.. you can connect to a normal TV just using the Yellow, White, and Red connections and leave the green, blue, red unplugged. Here's a picture of the cable off the xbox website....

Obviously if you use the yellow video cable though.. it'll always only be SD.. even if your connecting to a HD tv. You need to use the Red, Green, Blue for HD. Also.. if you have a surround sound system.. you can connect a seperate (sold seperately) optical audio cable to the "hybrid connector" and then the other end into your surround sound reciever.

Yes, the cable is a hybrid, as you put it. Though what you are talking about isn't an HDMI cable, it is a component/composite cable.|||the cable that came with the 360 is in fact an hybrid is a component and composite (red, green, blue) and (yellow)for video and for audio analog (white, red) and digital (optical)on the connector base
