Ok computer genus Working with Adobe Acrobat and Microsoft word?

I typed something in microsoft word and want to transfer it to Adobe Acrobat. How can this be done? When I tried to open it with Adobe, it said it could not be done because it is a non supported file type, or the file has been damaged, for example, it was sent as an email attachment as wasn't correctly decoded. Bottom line, when I send this file to my clients, I would like to send it via Adobe. How would I go about doing so? Please help. Thanks.

Print the Word Document but instead of your printer, select Adobe Acrobat in the dropdown list of printers. Give it a filename and it will convert the file to a .pdf format.

Of if you don't have adobe acrobat but instead only have adobe acrobat READER then you can download a virtual pdf printer such as CutePDF and follow the same instructions as above.
