I have 2 files which Microsoft cannot identify, 1 is labeled,"attachment file, and the other is "settings.ctb file, I have no memory of downloading these files, but, I cannot say for sure I did not, however, I am hesitant about opening the files. Is there a way I can be secure in finding out these files without opening the 2 and running the risk of being infected? I tried contacting Microsoft support but it was not the correct #, I dialed 1-800-642-7676 with no productive results, Does anyone know something different to eliminate this dilema without deleting the files before I find out whether they are safe or not? I have Windows XP home edition.

if you have an anti-virus program chose custom scan and chose the file or document which you want to scan if infected with virus or something simply remove it if not should be safe to open.

rember when in doubt just don't do it.
