Hi, I'm 13, and I really want a computer all my own. Right now, I have to share one with my whole family. My family doesn't have the money to buy a whole new computer for me, but we do have two other computers, both with Windows 98 installed. If I installed Windows XP using a CD that I have, by these instructions at:

would I be able to run Windows XP on the computer that previously had Windows 98 on it? I'm not sure if I have the verification code or whatever, but I'll have to check. If I do, and this code has already been used on another computer that had Windows XP installed on it, will it still work just like THAT Windows XP?

I think this might sound confusing, and I don't have a ton of room here, so if you are confused, I would really like to instant message instead. If you need more details, please tell me.

Hi,from what i understand , you want both WIN 98 and WINXP in one pc. But for it to be possible you'll need to know how many hard drive partition you have on that pc (check it in my computer).If you have two partition you just have to boot WINXP (insert the XP cd in the cd-rom and restart pc,then press any key when asked if you want to boot from cd),follow the instructions and install it in the 2nd partition.Then you'll have both WIN98 AND WINXP.
