I did a search through the Microsoft knowledge base (KB files) and didn't find a thing for "appcrash windows vista explorer". This operating system has been plagued with problems so I'd suggest you contact customer support and bring it to their attention.

You could also try "last known good configuration". Restart computer and immediately start clicking the F8 button. Keep clicking it until the Advanced Options Menu appears. Select last known good configuration option.
