I used http://vixy.net/ to convert a YouTube video to an Avi file so I could use it in Windows Movie Maker yet when I try to import the video, it won't work (all the while, Windows Movie Maker specifically says it works with Avi files) I've tried everything but I simply can't figure this out, does anyone know what I'm doing wrong? I would appreciate any help very, very much :)
After converting YouTube videos to Avi files they still won't work in Windows Movie Maker, why?microsoftYou need to download the specific codec, which can be found somewhere in the Microsoft Office Page or something like that (Took me a long time to find it...)
The Windows option that Vixy.net provides only works with a DIVX Player, which can be downloaded for free.
An easier way to play those .AVI files is to convert it to .WMV
http://www.snapfiles.com/get/prismvideoc...
This is a good, simple and easy program that will convert your videos to make them play on Windows Media Player.
Good luck!
