for yahoo messenger, you can check for updates from the tools dropdown, so i update it every month, but i dunno how to check for updates for windows live messenger??

if you have to ask then the anwser is no!|||There is no auto update on option to enable on LiveMessenger that I can see. I think it auto updates by itself, but if you want to be sure you have the latest version do this:

On the live messenge tool bar click Help>About Messenger and you will see a version and build number. Then visit the following link to see what version and build is currently available:

I know that the final version of 8.5 was released on November 6th 2007 and that version 9 is currently in development.|||hi

This message will only display if you are using the old one, if it is not there then it must mean it is up to date.
