If I remove Windows Live Messenger and install Window Messenger, will I loose my contacts?
When I go onto Windows Live Messenger, my Firefox and other things seem to play up...freezing, going on go slow etc. I have done scans defrags and clean-ups but that doesn't make a difference so I wanted to try an older version of Windows Messenger to see if that made a difference. Im worried about loosing all contacts connected to me and other users on my PC.

A while ago I was having problems with Windows Live Messenger and used Windows Messenger instead - if you have a windows-operated computer, it might actually be already on your computer so check that before you download. It works just fine, it just doesn't have as many functions and it might not allow you to see all emoticons, meaning you'd have to ask your friends to repeat what they typed in CAPS so you can actually see it.
I hope that helps - it could also be that you need an upgrade of your computer, but for now I'd go with Windows Messenger like you figured out yourself and if you do need a new computer later on, you have a chance to save up for it first.
