I was talking to my son on IM yesterday and a text (saying it was from him) kept appearing saying "I saw your picture on hotornot.com. I swear it was you." Obviously I didn't click the link, but I'm wondering what this is? Is it a virus? Or a hacker? Has this happened to anyone else and how do I report/stop this person?

It is most likely he has a virus and it is trying to spread itself via his live messenger so you should advise him about it

yes please dont click on that link. It could be a trojan, worm a virus who knows now days. Its possible that a hacker was trying to get into your system. Its possible that your son has a virus on his pc though. Tell him to do a scan on his pc
