I had done a spyware scan and some BHO(Browser helping object )was detected as unknown torjan

Yea those virus scans are a good option. Also getting rid of IE altogether is a good option. Its not going to speed things up from the CPU point of view, but using Firefox is a 100% better experience.

You should use a spyware prog like Spybot to help monitor any changes to the registry so when these toolbars try to latch on to your browser , your warned before it even happens.
