Firefox is better for managing cookies, cache, and personal info. Also, Firefox gives tabbed browsing (but so does Maxthon, an IE based browser) speeds things up while surfing and gives you more without having to open many IE windows. However, the new Firefox is coming under alot of fire (no pun intended) with many users complaining about stability issues. Firefox also has alot of great extensions that let you customize your online experience. Stick with Firefox if you want to surf multiple pages and want more privacy, if you can put up with an unexpected crash now and then. Be ready to use IE because some people just aren't smart enough to build their webpages to match all kinds of browsers. Maxthon is a good IE/Firefox style mix built off IE as another option.

firefox is definitely|||ie when wokring on a clean site.

forefox when working with one with lot of popups.|||Why are you limiting your choice to just these two, is it because these are the only two that you know about? Other popular browsers available are Netscape, Opera, and my personal favourite Maxthon. I cannot comment on all of the browsers as I have only used each of them a little, but I am currently using Maxthon which is excellent. It uses the IE engine but it has a load more features added to it, plus it is a tabbed browser which IE is yet to release. It is fully customisible and you can even download new skins for it. I would recommend this browser for sure if you are interested in it.
