i have checked the settings under tools and checked my cookie settings. i have tried turning off my firewall as well as running my virus scan and spyware scan. does anyone else have any suggestions.

Try in Firefox: Tools, Content, Loading Images Automatically, Exceptions.

See if Photobucket is not on list of exceptions which are to be blocked - if it is, remove it and the image should appear.
