I have installed IE7 and Yahoo home page is telling me "why miss out" please upgrade to a more recent browser. For some reason yahoo is not recognizing IE7 on my computer. I am running XP

Clicking this will start the download for Microsoft Internet Explorer 7 especially designed for Service Pack 2. The problem you are facing is because you have installed Internet Explorer 7 which is not fully supported by your version of Windows XP. Either you have installed IE7 for Windows XP Service Pack 3 or any other Windows' version. Well if you are using Windows XP Service Pack 2 then I am damn sure that installing Internet Explorer 7 from the above link will solve out the problem.

Yahoo runs in it's own browser. IE7 would be a secondary browser. What Yahoo may want you yo do is install the Yahoo Toolbar for IE7. I don't recommend this unless you really have to have it. Open IE7 and click the tools tab, then Manage Add Ons. You'll see if anything from Yahoo is loaded in IE7, or has been loaded. You also have the disable\enable individual add-ons function there.
