Going onto yahoo.com is okay. But when I log in and enter the email area, I see the messages for <2 seconds, then InternetExplorer closes. We also have seen IE freeze on various other websites lately, but only experience the automatically closing window with Yahoo email.

I came here looking for an answer to the same problem... The thing is, I have had this happen before, before my computer warranty ran out, and I was able to have the online technician walk me through fixing it. I remember that we had to go to "internet options" and either "check" or "uncheck" some things (don't remember which or I'd have already done it myself) in the Advanced Tab. Maybe this will "ring a bell" with someone and we will get an answer. I think this all started because I just recently ran an update of Norton Internet Security - it must have reset something is all I can figure.

if problem persists i highly doubt you need to reinstall the IE. reinstalling could solve the problems, though i cannot guarantee since i got no problem with that. it's my peers on the web who gave suggestions and solutions to some errors i submitted to them.
