I've also tried to use a different user-agent string for wget. But still IE and wget are giving me different result pages from a website: fr.altavista.com. Does anyone know what might be wrong? Thanks!

If the web site is doing some browser detection and browser capability detection(like looking for active x capabilities, flash etc) than it may present you with different pages based on that.
