IE Defender! Can't get rid of it...?

I have been infected with the IE defender thing that pops up all the time as a message saying that my computer is screwed and to download their software.
I have tried a number of different programs to get rid of it that go through the process and then say that it cannot be deleted because it is bing used by another person or program...
What do I do???
The programs I used to get rid of it are roguefix and another one that both did their job and did not have any problems except that it says they are being used by another program and cannot be deleted...

Superantispyware will remove IE Defender. Run it in safe mode to overcome the running process obstacle.

try it in safe mode. if not get spybot 1.5 update it and run in safe mode.|||I like the spybot solution. If you haven't got spybot try this: -
Click start, run & type in 'msconfig' click OK click 'start up' & then untick all the programs you don't need to run at start up, click OK. This should stop the IE thingy from starting up.
