Firefox is more secure which means its harder to get viruses and such when using it. It is also very customizable allowing you to change how it looks to how it works and everything in between. I would keep IE though because some sites still require you to use IE to download stuff.

Quite frankly, I am sick and tired of seeing this question. Just download the damn browser. It is free, and takes all of 2 minutes to install. You will see for yourself why it is better within about 10 minutes.

Advantages of Firefox over IE:

Free as in freedom

More Secure

Faster

Lighter weight

Supports plugins

Supports standards (renders pages more accurately)

Disadvantages:

None. None at all.
