i am having a phantom of the opera themed 16th birthday party.

i have already found the perfect dress. it looks exactly like christine's dress in the masquerade scene.

the theme is the masquerade ball scene of the movie and everyone will have to wear black and white and im going to wear the pink dress like christine.

i was wondering if anyone has any ideas for decorating. i dont want it to be too expensive. if you have any suggestions it would be helpful.

Gold. As I recall everything was gold in that scene. So essentially you could get whatever decorations you want, and if they're not the right color just paint them.

That's what I ended up doing for my emerald city party.

why|||thant sounds like a fun party!!....it would be hard to decorate though.

watch the movie again and try to make decorations that look like the things in the movie

happy birthday btw.|||I don't know where you live but if you can find a discount fabric store use alto of inexpensive sheer fabric. Do alot of draping kind of like a sheiks tent. Candles or electric candles(best idea) everywhere will set the mood. Happy Birthday!!!!!!!!!!!The fabric can be reused as sheers for the windows!!!!|||Put up some paper masks in different colors.|||If your house (Or the location of your party) is two stories, make the stairs the focal point of the room, like in the movie. Decorate with lots of gold and black*, as people have already said. The idea of draping everything with cheap fabric is a good one. Everything really needs to be as over-the-top as possible-- it IS the opera!

*On the other hand, you could also do multiple colors, like in the stage show.
